Papers and miscellaneous items pertaining to the civic, social, and professional activities of Mary C. Stanley, a beautician, and her brother, George Albert Clark, a World War II veteran. Items pertaining to Mary Stanley include a beautician's diploma, 1931; a program for the 90th year anniversary service at Zion Union Baptist Church, 1985; a funeral program, 1991; and a pin and printed miscellany regarding the Daughters of the Improved, Benevolent, Protective Order of Elks of the World. Items pertaining to George Clark include a 1945 V-Mail letter from Thomas Burns mentioning leave in Rouen; an issue of a ship's paper "The Bell News," 1945 November 9; dog tags, ribbons, patches and other army insignia; and a funeral program. Miscellaneous items include a 1959 souvenir china plate depicting the future Baptist Home for the Needy, Richmond, Va., and a program for the Alpha Kappa Alpha debutante ball,1985.
